Vines fell for a few seconds before a sudden tug spun him around. He landed softly on a dark, marble floor. He stood and looked around, seeing nothing but the darkness. He strolled forward when a deep, rumbling voice shook the room around him.

"Who dares disturb my silence!"

Vines stood tall and shouted back," I've come here to take my life back! I am Vines the Snivy and I demand to be shown the way back to Earth!"

A cackling echoed around the room, "You dare speak to me like that! I am the definition of death. The one who ends the puny life of mortals and sends them to the fait they deserve! I have been challenged many times and out of the millions who have came only three ever past my tests! What makes you so special that you not only disturb my peace but demand to be returned to your life!"

A shadow appeared before Vines, dwarfing him with its size. It's appearance shifted back and forth like smoke. High up in the cloud were two burning coals with black pupils staring directly at him. He stared at Vines, a slight bit of aww shining in his eyes, then he burst out laughing.

"I sent all three back and they return all at once."

The figure gabbed at Vines with such force that he was sent spiraling across the room, landing with a thud on the floor.

"And what a peculiar form you have taken. Controlled by the weakest in the body of the strongest. Truly amazing."

Vines stood staring the creature down, "You mentioned a test. I demand to take it and when I pass you will send me home!"

The smoke laughed again then nodded. "It's been a while since I've had a challenger. Here's the deal. You defeat me and I will send you home, but if you lose I keep you here forever with all the other fools who have challenged me."

Vines stepped back with a gasp, "How could I possibly defeat you! You sent me flying by poking me!"

The creature laughed then began thinking. "I suppose you are right. I'm a reasonable guy so I will give you three tries. Your body has three days till it dies. After that it will be impossible to return. You will have three tries, one a day, till your body dies and you remain here with me, forever."

Vines felt the hopelessness of the situation bear down on him. It was impossible, but he had to try.

"Fine. I accept the challenge. I will fight you right here, right now." R

The creature grinned then clicked his fingers. With that a giant hour glass appeared behind him. Sand slowly poured from the top to the bottom.

"When the sand all reaches the bottom the day is done and you can challenge me again. When it has been turned three time you will belong to me."

Vines watched the sand fall, not noticing the giant hand till it was to late.  He was sent spiraling across the room, skidding across the floor as he landed.

He stood and faced where the creature was, but he had gone.

"I am the darkness," came a raspy voice, and Vines was sent flying again.

He searched the area again but couldn't spot the attacker. A second later he was lifted into the air and five sharp objects stabbed into him. He dropped to the floor, bleeding in several places. Unable to get up the creature announced that it had won. With that it left him lying there in the dark. Hurt and alone.

Vines finally sat up and inspected himself for the injuries he'd suffered but there were none. His body had fully healed. He searched the floor but no blood remained.

He sat down, crossing his legs and began to meditate. He'd never done it before but seeing as he was in the middle of nowhere there wasn't much else to do. He tried using his calm mind, but surprisingly nothing happened. He tried the same with the Rage and got the same response. He wasn't able to use his powers.

"What's happening to me...."
Found this in my notes. I wrote this a while ago and forgot to post it. Introducing a new world and a new monster. Hope you enjoyed.
